My Photographic Journey Around America

Desert Mine Building

Tonopah, Nevada is a far flung mining community in the middle of the state. It was home to the second largest silver boom in American history. Today, you can wander around some of the old deserted mine buildings, but be sure you bring some water and sunscreen because the desert is pretty unforgiving.

  1. Stayed in Tonopah a few times on our way to the national parks in Utah. Interesting part of the state. Thanks for sharing the interesting picture.

    • Thanks for your comment, Larry. I have passed through there so many times myself, but finally had a chance to spend a few hours. It was hot, but interesting. I’ll be back.
