This is the LeConte Lodge in Yosemite National Park in California. It was built in 1903 in memory of Joseph LeConte, one of the founding members of The Sierra Club. It was Yosemite Valley’s first visitors center, but now serves as home to The Sierra Club in the valley.
Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California is my absolute favorite thing in the world. Here it is reflected in the very quiet Merced River.
It is great to be back in San Francisco, and this is one of my favorite views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fort Point was built in the 1850s to defend the San Francisco Bay, long before the bridge was even thought possible. Today, they combine for a nice photo opportunity.

This group has gathered to watch the sun set into the Pacific Ocean from Bodega Head here on the California coast.

This is, I believe, a 1955 Chevy Nomad parked in front of Don the Beachcomber Tiki Bar in Sunset Beach, California. It just doesn’t get a whole lot more Southern California than that. I wish I could have better captured the beautiful glossy shine on this car.
This is the Balloon Bust in Pacific Park in Santa Monica, California. I just liked the colors!
I just love neon lights. This is the entrance to Pacific Park in Santa Monica, California.
This is the Ferris wheel on the Santa Monica Pier in California right at dusk.

This is just before sunset, looking out at the end of the Santa Monica Pier here in California. This is where I spent my very first night in California 15 years ago. It hasn’t changed much. The same cannot be said of me.
This lifeguard tower is in Santa Monica, California. It is great to be back on the west coast!
This is Golden Canyon in Death Valley National Park just before sunset. This time of day really brings out the gold color in the rocks. I really like this hike. The hiker in the far bottom left gives it some scale.
Even on a cloudy winter day, The Snow Cap on Historic Route 66 in Seligman, Arizona still makes me happy. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s definitely worth the stop.
This was a shed deep in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona.

This was about half an hour before sunrise here in Monument Valley, Arizona. The snow on this butte will let you know how chilly it was, but it certainly was beautiful as well.
