Matanuska Valley

This area was once covered by the receding Matanuska Glacier in Alaska. It has left a pretty spectacular valley.

Alaskan Cache

This is a bear cache – designed to keep bears and other animals away from your food when you are away. This one is set up as a display at Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center in Alaska.

Dust Storm in Kluane N.P.

This is a dust storm right next to Kluane Lake in Kluane National Park in The Yukon Territory. It was quite a sight to see.

S.S. Klondike

This is the stunning S.S. Klondike. It once plied the waters of The Yukon, but now rests quietly in Whitehorse.

Inside The Signpost Forest

This is a shot from inside The Signpost Forest in Watson Lake, Yukon Territory.

Sign Post Forest

The Sign Post Forest is one of the more unique roadside attractions on the road to Alaska. This is in Watson Lake, my first stop in The Yukon Territory. Always worth a stop to stretch the legs and see where people are travelling from. IMG_7959.JPG

Coastal Mountains

The mountains definitely change as you get closer to Alaska. They are bigger, a little darker, a little more sinister. This is in far Northern British Columbia.

Moricetown Canyon

This is one of my favorite pull-offs on the road to Alaska. There are lots of mountains and lakes and things which I obviously love and will share, but this is a little drop of civilization in the big open wilderness. The is Moricetown Canyon in British Columbia.

British Columbia Mountains

These mountains were early on in my journey North to Alaska! Somewhere in British Columbia.

From Chateau Lake Louise

This is from the deck of the Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta. Beautiful!

Lake Louise

Lake Louise is always a beautiful spot. This is in Banff National Park in Alberta.

Mountain Stream

This was so beautiful as it finally came out of the clouds. I loved the waterfall. This is near Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta.

Plain of Six Glaciers

The hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers in Banff National Park is pretty epic. The day was perfect!

A Wisp of Clouds

This was also along the Plain of Six Glaciers hike at Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta.

Mountains and Clouds

This was on the Plain of Six Glaciers Hike at Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta.

Fog on Moraine Lake

It was an epic foggy morning at Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, Alberta. I loved the way the mountains were peaking through the clouds.

Peyto Lake

This is beautiful Peyto Lake, one of the most colorful lakes on the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park.

Mountain Colors

The purple mountain, green trees and blue glacial lake are so cool in this picture. Still on the Icefields Parkway, but now in Banff National Park, Alberta.
