Skateland

Long closed by the looks of it, but I just couldn’t pass by this awesome sign. There are probably a lot of memories in this old skating rink outside of Memphis, Tennessee.

Winter Tree

Sometimes a scene strikes me as beautiful for no particular reason. I really liked the light on these trees along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.

Just Before Dusk in Charleston

I really love catching this time of day in an old city. The lights of the ground floor against a darkening background is one of my favorite things to photograph. This is in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Old Exchange

This one was just for fun. This is in the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon in Charleston, South Carolina. I remember seeing this many years ago when it was animatronic. Thankfully that time has passed. The tour these days is very interesting and informative

Gip’s Place

This is inside Gip’s Place, the last of the real Alabama Juke Joints, and the last of the real Juke Joints that I wanted to be sure I visited before they’re gone. That’s the man himself down in front, just shy of his 97th birthday. If you’re ever in or anywhere remotely near Bessemer, Alabama on a Saturday night, you should definitely seek it out.
