Hello and welcome! My name is Mike Harding and I have been travelling across the United States for most of my adult life. I am a Tour Guide by trade, a traveler by nature and a photographer at heart. I guide tours for a number of brand names, but have worked in 48 states and visited all 50. I am passionate about our National Parks, America’s true treasures, and have visited almost 300 of the 400 or so units of the Park System. I love getting off the beaten path while always keeping in mind that the path is beaten for a reason. My job takes me to those places which interest people to visit, but in my free time I like to get out and explore. My camera is never far away.
In this photo blog, I hope to capture images from all corners of the country as I travel across it and back again. I use a very basic Olympus DSLR camera. I edit my photos in Lightroom, and do so gently most of the time. My goal is to show you what I see in my daily travels, not create a photo that you could never witness if you were standing next to me. I don’t use Photoshop at all. That is a preference, not a judgment.
I do hope you’ll come along with me for the ride. My goal is to post a new photo every day of my tour season, but keep in mind that I won’t always be in Wi-Fi range. I hope you will enjoy my photos and seeing the country through my eyes. Please help me out by sharing, re-posting, re-blogging, tweeting or whatever means you choose to get the word out. I hope they will inspire you and others to turn off the TV this weekend and get out here. It’s a beautiful country and a beautiful world!
