6777 Hollywood Blvd

I’ve always really liked this building. This was originally Hollywood First National Bank, built in 1927, at 6777 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, California. The architects were Meyer and Holler who also designed the Chinese Theatre, the Egyptian Theatre and Culver Studios, among others. From 1927 to 1932, it was Los Angeles’ tallest building, and is one of only a handful of buildings in the city with gargoyles. Today, it sits empty at one of the most famous intersections in the city, a ghost of what once was in Hollywood.
